• The M&A predictions for Private Equity and Corporate Development were made obsolete these past few weeks - the 2025 consensus outlook is anxious.
• M&A transaction activity was muted in Q1, with deal volumes down a modest 6% from 2024.
• Despite tariff & macro uncertainty, both PE and corporate buyers are launching new M&A initiatives – notably, we've only had one supply-chain related engagement deferral.
• As for our founder/seller clients, they are wary of tariff, tax and valuation shifts, but have generally held steady.
