John brings energy, intensity, and a drive to take ideas from which is to what is possible. With more than 30 years of experience on Wall Street and in management consulting, he has built a career around unlocking opportunities for investors and founders alike.
As leader of Harbor View's Buy-Side practice, John and his team serve private equity clients in their pursuit of add-on and platform investments.
The Harbor View team is known for its authenticity, game-time readiness, and solve-it mindset, qualities they bring to every client engagement. Harbor View began as an idea: bring Wall Street to Main Street, do great deals with great people, and never lose sight of what matters most - getting it done right.
Before founding Harbor View, John was a Vice President in the Technology Research Group at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York, covering over $100 billion in market capitalization across the Business Services, Human Capital, FinTech, and IT/Services sectors. His experience also includes working on the buy-side as a Partner at Camelot Capital, a billion-dollar hedge fund with investments in public and private software and services companies. Earlier in his career, John was a Principal at A.T. Kearney, where he managed consulting engagements across the globe, including in Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, Sweden, and throughout the United States.
John holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University. He also maintains his Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses.
Outside of Harbor View, John is an optimistic ultra-runner, Ironman, and father of three. When he's not working with clients or leading the team, you'll find him running trails long enough to bend the horizon, reminding himself that endurance, perspective, and grit always matter. At home, he enjoys time with his wife, his partner in both business and life, and their three children, who keep things interesting and fun always.
